PLAIN WEAVE FABRICS
Siltemp Plain Weave Fabrics are composed of texturized yarns and have improved insulating properties over the more common satin weave fabrics. They also have improved fabrication properties for certain applications because of less edge fraying. Typical applications include bas fabric for making slit tape, tadpole gaskets, and specialized hot weld insulation and protection. Plain weave fabrics are coated for improved handling properties. The coating will decompose at high temperatures.

Siltemp 25M is a flexible, high silica mat composed of woven roving and chopped yarn. Excellent high temperature insulation is an outstanding property of this amorphous silica material. Applications in metals production include furnace covers, stress-relief blankets, thermal insulation, etc. Chemical industry uses include filters to separate and clarify chemicals such as hot ferric chloride, chromium halides, and reinforcement for resins and ceramics.
